Description of Position
Under the direction of the Dean, Allied Health & Physical Education, the Director provides leadership and is responsible for the quality and the integrity of the Registered Nursing program.
Representative Duties
• Assure that applicable Program, District, Board of Registered Nursing, accrediting agencies and/or other external agency regulations and policies are adhered to and applied correctly by program staff members.
• Administer the procedures for the recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
• Coordinate the administration and operation of the Registered Nursing program, including courses and clinical facilities in order to maximize the learning opportunities for students.
• Maintain close liaison and harmonious relationships with area hospitals, related health care facilities and agencies to foster strong working relationships.
• Represent the College in local and state meetings related to the Registered Nursing Program, standards, and accreditation.
• Evaluate applications for admission to the Registered Nursing Program, including advising and notifying students of admission status to the programs.
• Coordinate with the Nursing Division Chair to develop and administer the annual budget for the Nursing Division and maintain appropriate records and controls to assure that the program operates within established budget limitations and guidelines.
• Assure the collection, recording, and reporting of a variety of student census and enrollment data as required and requested by local, state and federal agencies.
• Coordinate program review and program planning for areas of responsibility.
• Manage enrollment consistent with District policy.
• Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of excellence in the instructional program giving consideration to curriculum, facilities, equipment, and materials.
• Interpret College policy and administrative decisions to the department faculty and students and communicates the needs of the departments to the administration.
• Coordinate Nursing Department functions with accrediting organizations and community advisory committees
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned faculty and classified staff; participate as directed in the selection, discipline and conflict resolution of subordinates.
• Insure development and maintenance of accurate and complete student files for the programs according to regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with nursing faculty to develop, improve, and evaluate course offerings; initiate studies and conduct analyses as necessary to determine the need for new course offerings.
• Assume other duties normally associated with management.

• Ability to operate a computer keyboard.
Salary: $84,094 to $124,244
