Student Assistant
Job Description:
The Lyles Center is looking for a top notch student assistant.
Assist in the planning and organizing of forums and events, Board Meetings, workshops, etc. Will also greet clients, assist with entry level accounting - filling out forms, organize office files, office phone, fax, mail and email, type general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Answer phones, take messages, and responds to calls;
2. Process mail; incoming and outgoing;
3. Prepares correspondence;
4. Responsible for updating and maintaining filing system;
5. Makes copies, maintains logs and lists;
6. Assists with all other office duties as assigned;
7.Takes inventory of supplies and maintains organization of supply closet/cabinets;
8. Performs general cleaning and upkeep of board room, classroom, lab and kitchen;
9. Minimal routine technical support such as: assisting with print jobs, refilling printer and fax paper, and emptying shredders.
Qualifications:
Looking for Freshman or sophomore.
Ability to multi-task and ability to remain calm in stressful situations is critical.
Fluent in the English Language. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, clients, and community agencies; ability to maintain confidentiality of student and client information. Must be able to work flexible hours, occasional evening and weekends.
Good knowledge of standard office procedures and practices. Proficient in Microsoft products.
Will train willing student.
Salary: $8.00
