Merchandise Intern
Job Description:
The Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a position on our Merchandise Team. This position will assist the Director of Merchandise with the daily operation of the merchandise department, and be involved in store management, marketing, purchasing, inventory management, merchandise reports, and website maintenance. This position will offer the individual an opportunity to experience beneficial aspects of a professional sports organization while allowing them to grow professionally through the internship process. Qualified applicants will either have, or be pursuing, a bachelor’s degree in marketing, management, or sport management. Previous experience with retail, management, or event marketing is a plus. The ability to work nights/weekends, game days is a must. This internship will run from the spring semester of 2009 and has the option of staying on as a Team Store employee through the Grizzlies’ baseball season (terminates on 8/25/09).
Qualifications:
•Candidates must receive college credit and provide proof of school enrollment and internship credit in order to participate in our internship program
•Candidates must also have a willingness to learn and be extremely motivated to get into the community and raise awareness of the Fresno Grizzlies
•Proficiency in basic computer skills (cash/credit handling, register experience, and experience with layout and design software a plus)
Salary: Internship Credit plus hourly pay during games
