Supervising Counselor - Plesant Valley State Prison
Job Description:
Responsible for operations within the Substance Abuse Program. Duties include: program implementation and quality assurance, supervision of staff, filling in for staff when they are unavailable due to training, illness, etc., act as liaison with custody and classification staff and participate in inmate classification hearings, and the scheduling of staff and program activities.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or a related field is required; or Graduation from an accredited college with a four year degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or a related field is required and the equivalent of two (2) years cumulative of full-time experience supervising counseling staff in substance abuse programs for the criminal justice population; or The equivalent of three (3) cumulative years of full-time experience supervising counseling staff in substance abuse programs for the criminal justice population; or The equivalent five (5) cumulative years of full-time experience as a journey level counselor in substance abuse programs for the criminal justice population Within one (1) year of hire must be certified in substance abuse services within a criminal justice setting. Must have a valid California driver’s license and the ability to qualify for WestCare vehicle insurance. Must have the ability to receive a prison clearance.
Salary: $43,056.00 per year plus benefits
