Director Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Job Description:
This position will work closely with the senior leadership team and key personnel in our production facilities to implement change and manage world-class quality assurance programs. The Director will work to ensure that all existing and new products meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure the company is in a position to provide demonstrably superior value in comparison with its major competitors. The Director will hold responsibility for establishing quality programs, developing food safety policies and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop strategic quality initiatives and related programs for the company and implement by closely working with all members of the management team.
Deliver specific time lines and measures to ensure that the company is a recognized quality benchmark in the orange juice industry.
Utilize customer and production feedback to develop quality specifications and parameters of existing and new products so they consistently meet or exceed expectations in the marketplace. These specifications must also meet consumer
specifications of the product, manufacturing capabilities and supplier capabilities.
Develop and manage quality control systems and their consistent implementation, including quality procedures, product specification and the testing of raw materials and finished products, including recall procedures and audits.
Ensures all regulatory compliances. Prepares and represents the company during all related audits.
Qualifications:
Must be HACCP certified.
Must be adept at the identification, measurement, and integration of reliable measures of customer input into the quality assurance process, and should be adept in managing quality assurance in food processing characterized by variability of incoming raw materials. Must be able to interpret data.
Well developed management and interpersonal skills appropriate to a senior-level line executive, and a strong track record as an agent of change in creating, implementing, and executing effective and advanced quality programs in a multiple plant environment.
Ability to manage, mentor, and train both direct and indirect reports to create a highly effective QC program.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Undergraduate degree in food science or a related field is required for this position, and an advanced degree would be considered an asset.
