The Systems Software Specialist II will be a member of the IBM Operating System & ISV Support Unit. The unit is
responsible for the support of the z/OS Operating System products and ISV products. Typical job duties include 1)
Install, implement, customize, and maintain software products; 2) Resolve complex technical problems relating to
software products; 3) Act as technical consultant to users, application staff, and management.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience installing, implementing, and maintaining mainframe software products. Ability to identify and resolve
complex computer software/hardware problems. Expert knowledge and experience in computer programming
techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff in both verbal and written form.
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
Technical knowledge of mainframe operating system (z/OS). Experience working in multiple LPAR environment.
Experience working with IBM Assembler language, COBOL, and c/c++. Knowledge of z/OS, USS, JES2, TSO, and I/O
processing. Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and technologies.
