Juvenile Corrections Officer - Extra Help
Job Description:
Juvenile Corrections Officers are responsible for the supervision of juveniles under the authority of the Probation Department. JCO’s may be assigned to any one of three Kern County juvenile facilities as well as community service and educational programs.
Qualifications:
Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of college coursework including some courses in the behavioral sciences, social sciences or criminal justice. Applicants must be citizens of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship. Applicants will be fingerprinted and will be required to pass an extensive background investigation. A valid California Class C driver’s license is required. Applicants will be required to pass a physical agility test, a medical examination and a psychological evaluation.
Salary: $17.32 per hour plus additional 5-7% depending on shifts
