AVID Tutor Tioga Middle School
Job Description:
AVID is a program for students who want to attend college. The Tioga AVID program has four AVID elective classes for 7th and 8th grade students. AVID teaches student strong writing and math skills, organizational skills, and critical thinking skills in a collaborative setting, called tutorial.
We need in-class tutors for Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester. Our AVID elective periods are Per. 1 (8:10 - 9:05), Per. 2 (9:05 - 10:00), Per. 5 (12:30 - 1:25) and Per. 6 (1:25 - 2:20). We pay the period as one hour.
Tutors may work in any or all of the four periods, but must be available for the same times for both Tuesdays and Thursdays.
You will be trained on site.

Qualifications:
* Available Tuesday and Thursday for the same class periods.
* Have good math skills. (We have students in regular math and algebra I).
* Be able to work with middle school students.
* Prefer former AVID students or tutors, but not necessary. You will be trained on site
* Available through December 18th, but with time off if you have a finals exam at school.
Salary: $10.00 / hour
