The Mainframe Security Analyst will be a member of the Mainframe Security Unit located in the Computing Resources Bureau. The unit is responsible for the administration and maintenance of department’s mainframe security database by permitting access to all mainframe resources as well as Natural, DB2, COMPLET. Typical job duties include: 1) Act as a technical lead for the Departments mainframe Security database, 2) Act as a project manager/lead or participant on assignments and projects related to the mainframe security database, 3) Resolve complex technical problems relating to the mainframe security database, 4) Act as project manager/lead for updates to the security database based on technology, industry standards or best practice. 5) Perform as a technical consultant to users, application staff and management, 6) Enforce Information Security policy on the mainframe security database.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• z/OS and Unix on mainframe, experience in Time Sharing Option (TSO), Job Control Language (JCL), programming languages such as DYL280, COBOL, C or C++

• Ability to identify and resolve complex problems

• Ability to work independently and produce results

• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff in both verbal and written form

• Effectively manage changing priorities and able to handle concurrent assignments

• Ability to show initiative and to work both independently and in a team environment

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business customers, technical staff and co-workers

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience with Computer Associates, Top Secret Security product

• Knowledge of the Departments various programs

• Technical knowledge of computer operating systems

• Project Manager/Lead experience

• Experience working in multiple systems environment
