Civil/Structural Engineer, Project Manager

We are a science-based consulting firm providing engineering, survey, planning, geo-science, and environmental services located in the rugged, pristine paradise of northern California and southern Oregon. SHN offers interesting and diverse projects and has a dynamic and talented staff of 112 professional, technical and administrative staff covering a diverse range of services.
Our Willits, CA office has an immediate need for a Civil/Structural Engineer, Project Manager with civil design experience covering municipal, industrial, commercial, and residential applications including hands on working knowledge of AutoCAD Land Development Software.
Qualifications:
Design competency should include site development and improvement including grading, sanitary sewer, potable water systems, and storm drainage. Additional design experience in water and wastewater distribution and treatment systems, and road design is considered a plus. Structural design experience for features such as retaining walls and foundations would be beneficial. Strong project management skills are considered essential. PM duties include: Scheduling the work of project team members; providing input to Service Directors and Department Heads to facilitate monitoring of staff utilization; coordinating and monitoring the activities of the project team on project tasks; assuring that correct and complete billings are prepared for the client and contacting clients when payments are late.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to successfully market technical professional services, strong written and oral communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. Minimum of five (5) years technical experience and at least five (5) years of professional project management experience preferred.
Education/Registrations/Certifications:
*Civil Engineering registration (PE)-California preferred; Oregon considered with ability to obtain through comity within 1 year.
*Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university or college.
*Working knowledge of the conditions and engineering requirements in the geographic area.
*Valid Driver’s license (CA) by hire date
*Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the United States
